September 2007 Enforcement Data

In September of 2007 the Task Force organized a bi-state traffic enforcement event. The Jackson County Sheriff’s Department and the KU Medical Center Police Department focused efforts in the 39th and State Line Road area. Warnings, citations, and information were issued to all road users - motorists, bicyclists, and pedestrians.

Motorist infractions included failing to signal and failing to stop.  Bicyclists were most often ticketed for failing to signal and not obeying stop signs.  Pedestrian violations included failure to obey “do not walk” signals.
